PM Modi at inauguration EXPO

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 17, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This event, India's largest mobility-focused exposition, was held across three venues: Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Delhi, and the India Expo Center & Mart in Greater Noida.

The expo, themed “Beyond Boundaries: Co-creating Future Automotive Value Chain,” aimed to unite the entire mobility value chain under one umbrella. It featured over nine concurrent shows, more than 20 conferences and pavilions, and state sessions showcasing regional policies and initiatives in the mobility sector. The event also witnessed over 100 new launches across automobiles and components, including electric vehicles from major manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW.

Key Highlights from PM Modi’s Address

India as a Global Mobility Hub: PM Modi emphasized India’s emergence as a global leader in the mobility sector, noting the country’s annual vehicle sales of approximately 2.5 crore units, surpassing the population of many countries
Tribute to Industry Leaders: He paid homage to Ratan Tata and Osamu Suzuki for their pivotal roles in making automobiles accessible to India’s middle class, acknowledging their lasting impact on the nation’s automotive industry.
Focus on Sustainable Technologies: The Prime Minister highlighted India’s commitment to green technologies, including electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel, and biofuels, aligning with the nation’s sustainability goals.
Infrastructure Development: He noted the allocation of over ₹11 lakh crore in the previous year’s budget for infrastructure development, emphasizing the construction of multi-lane highways and expressways to enhance ease of travel.
